The LANTERN LANE Studio is a home-based practitioner studio which was established by Kim S. MacKenzie in 2019, marking Kim's return to full time pastel artwork production after 12 years of post graduate study and employment in Higher Education. Prior to this, Kim established her visual art career over a 15 year period under her maiden name of Kim Gallagher, producing over 130 unique pastel art images for gallery exhibitions, tailored commercial products, and printed publications. Her original motivation for returning to university was to pursue expertise in leveraging Internet resources for the promotion of her artwork.
Since its inception, the LANTERN LANE Studio has facilitated a prolific era of art production resulting in a large body of work used to produce a series of e-books and a variety of printed products (greeting cards, calendars & canvas prints). All original artworks are created with soft pastels on cotton paper and measure approximately 57cm x 76cm.
Building on this foundation, the LANTERN LANE Studio seeks to publish several new e-books in 2022, dedicated to fostering 'art of the soul' that inspires mystical contemplation.
The LANTERN LANE Studio is periodically opened to the public for promotional activities. Original artworks, canvas art prints, greeting cards and annual art calendars can all be viewed by appointment or by phone video chat and Zoom.
